If you had my album on there, you'd have Indiana, too. ;)
I think my favorite "state song" is "Rhode Island is Famous For You" (Dietz-Schwartz), as sung by Blossom Dearie.
(Rhapsody link).
You can't forget "Living in Your Own Private Idaho" by the B52's...Come to think of it...yes you can.
Rhode Island Is Famous For You is SUCH a great states song! including the immortal line "tents in Tentessee" ... well you sorta have to be there
How about, randomly generated from my brain which is a useless rolodex (remember those?) of lyrics ... Anchorage, Alaska (Michelle Shocked); Sweet Home Alabama (you know who); OKLAHOMA! (which of course you spell out as you sing it :); and, kinda cheating 'cause it's not really about the state but anyway, the great big band classic "Pennsylvania 6-5000"
